Retired Greyhound Adoptions are on the increase in the UK and this is greyt news for ex-racers.
As these wonderful animals grow in popularity more of them can be assured of a happy retirement once their racing career is over.
Do you have room in your heart and your home for one of these gentle creatures?
Start by considering the practicalities of adoption then, if you think a hound is right for you, get in touch with your local re-homing group.
There are organisations all over the country so there should be one quite close to you.
We always advise you to go through a reputable re-homing group so you get the support and after care you need.
Fresh air and exercise
Greyhound Cuddles
Plenty of fresh air and exercise.
Lots of love and cuddles.
Hours of entertainment.
Make new friends. Just about everyone I know these days is a Greyhound person - and they are the most supportive and amazing people I have ever known.
There's always someone to chat to. It's incredible how many people stop to talk when you're walking a Greyhound.
No more wasted food. If you have leftovers you don't know what to do with your grey will always oblige. Just make sure any scraps are hound safe.
Greyhounds don't judge. If you're still in your PJs at midday on your day off, they don't care.
We're planning to build a list of as many reputable retired Greyhound adoption organisations as we can. We're starting here in the UK as we have some experience of our local groups.
The plan is to eventually expand and to list worldwide as well.
If you run an organisation, or have experience of a good one in the UK please contact us and we'll add the details to the list for you.
If you're considering retired Greyhound adoption scroll down and have a look for your local re-homing group in the list below. We're adding to it all the time but if you don't see anyone near you get in touch and we'll find your nearest organisation and let you know. We'll also add them to our site.
